2 Time World Champion, Sebastian Tortelli, stopped by ONE HQ to talk about teaming up on the KTM Tour, MX schools, Stephan Everts, and racing.
ONE: What’s going on with the KTM Tour your helping out with?
Tortelli: The KTM 2011 Demo tour with KTM is a promotion for the 2011 program and school at the same time. Any KTM dealer can sign up and test out the bikes. I recommend trying out the new 350. Riders will like the set up, linkage, and how you can handle the bike.
ONE: What about your MX Schools?
Tortelli: I’m offering the schools internationally in France, Canada, Puerto Rico, and all over US. For the US, we will be in Oregon, Minneapolis, Texas, and then California. Trying to give riders worldwide something to do that nobody has done before.
ONE: We hear that all the retirees are racing in Mexico for a World Celebrity MX Race, what’s going on there?
Tortelli: I put together the World Celebrity MX Race in Guadalajara, Mexico with some retired riders. So far we have Huffman, Stanton, Pedro Gonzales, Vuillemin, Dubach, Balbi, Thomas, Everts, and myself. We are all excited about the race because it’s been a long time since we have all raced together, so it’ll be a good show in front of 40,000 people.
ONE: Speaking of you and Everts, we heard you two are joining forces for charity?
Tortelli: I am doing a race event this July in Belgium with Stefan Everts for a charity event that helps out kids who have cancer. We are actually racing against eachother, so it should be fun. People haven’t seen us together since 2006.
ONE: We hope that event goes well for the two of you and thanks for stopping by.
