RACE REPORT: RED BUD

Team Red Bull Honda's Andrew Short continued his hot streak of
great starts this season and lead Ben Townley, Chad Reed, Ryan
Dungey, Josh Grant and Brett Metcalfe early in the first moto at Red
Bud. Townley quickly made his way to the point position while the
trio of Short, Dungey and Reed battled for spots one through three.
BT101 looked to have everything under control and was poised to hand
Dungey his first loss in a while but crashed on the last lap while
leading when he got cross-rutted in a deep section of the track.
Dungey claimed yet another moto win ahead of Reed, Short, Townley (re-
started and claimed 4th) Metcalfe, Josh Grant and Kyle Regal.

Andrew Short claimed the holeshot in moto two over Dungey, Townley,
Reed and Metcalfe. Dungey didnt waste any time and moved into the
lead and quickly began to pull away. Townley, Reed and Metcalfe also
passed Short and battled for position. Chad Reed made his way past
Townley but could not make up any time on Dungey who claimed his
fifth National of the season.

The 450 over-all results saw Dungey take first with 1-1 moto scores.
Chad Reed took second with 2-2 moto scores and Ben Townley grabbed
the final spot on the podium with 4-3  moto finishes. Andrew Short
and Brett Metcalfe rounded out the top five.

The first turn of the first moto in the 250 class looked like a Pro-
Circuit / Monster Energy-Kawasaki photo shoot with Christophe
Pourcell claiming the holeshot ahead of team-mates Tyla Rattray and
Jake Weimer.  Geico Powersports rider Justin Barcia moved past Jake
Weimer and battled with Tyla Rattray for second but could not work
his way past. Broc Tickle was also on the move in moto one before
crashing with Jake Weimer at about he halfway point of the moto.
Geico's Barcia also went down late in the moto allowing Pourcel to
claim the moto win ahead of team-mates Rattray and Dean Wilson.

Moto two saw another Pro Circuit / Monster Energy Kawasaki rider grab
the holeshot. Dean Wilson lead team-mate Tyla Rattray and Geico
riders Justin Barcia and Trey Canard early in the moto. Wilson held
on to the lead while a fierce battle raged behind him between Geico
Powersports team-mates Justin Barcia and Canard. The two Honda riders
swapped positions several times before Canard claimed the spot and
began to gain ground on the leader. Canard made a very aggressive pass
on Dean Wilson to claim the moto and ultimately the over-all win on
the day. This was the first moto win of Canards young career.

The 250 over-all results saw Trey Canard take the win with 4-1 moto
scores followed by Dean Wilson with 3-2 moto scores and Christophe
Pourcel took the final spot on the podium with 1-5 moto scores.
Justin Barcia and Blake Wharton rounded out the top five.

The series will have a weekend off next week and will resume in
Minnesota on July 17th.  We look forward to welcoming ONE Industries
team rider Ivan Tedesco back to racing at Millville.
